AL-MUSAFFIR
THE TRAVELLER
In The Name of Allah the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful,
IT IS GOD "WHO MADE THE EARTH A RESTING PLACE FOR YOU, AND MADE IN IT ROADS FOR YOU IN ORDER THAT YOU MAY FIND YOUR WAY." (Holy Quran: Chapter-The Ornaments 43:10).
Welcome all who have entered this site. The word “Al-Musaffir” is the Arabic meaning for “The Traveller.” This website has been set up on the premise that we are all travellers on a journey during our time in this world. Another word that has a similar meaning in the Arabic language is "Al -Salik.” This journey can lead to many different destinations, experiences and observations. These can range from experiencing the many wonders of the world such as sacred places of worship or observing and unravelling new insights that hold an important significance for the traveller. During this journey, many will make special provisions to cater for unexpected circumstances to ensure that the travellers arrive at their destinations safely. There will also be occasions when the travellers may meet each other on this journey where such unions hold an important significance in their lives. It is under this universal matrix that we continue to travel on journeys for many different reasons, purposes, goals and it is the aim of this site to be a medium to express these experiences in their own unique and diverse ways.
HERITAGE
The aim of this site is also to be a platform to promote the beautiful places of heritage religious or other that can be found around the world. This can range from important and beautiful scenes captured on photograph or video to buildings, museums, pictures and artefacts that have significance for the traveller.
CONTRIBUTIONS
To make this site a unique centre and platform for housing and promoting the many aspects of world heritage, your contributions are needed. The contributions can be in the form of stories, significant events that you have experienced during your travels and include all the features mentioned above under the heritage section.
STANDARDS & CRITERIA
It is important that the contributions that are made to this site maintain a sufficient standard in terms of quality, ethics and presentation without causing offence; and they fall within the foundations and aims that this site aims to house and promote as cited above. The administrator (s) of this site will ensure that such quality checks, standards are maintained and welcome your contributions to foster the goals & vision of the Al-Musaffir site.
